According to a previous camper, “Great back-to-the-land getaway, everything I needed to have a comfortable camping experience was provided. Canvas tent cabin had a queen size bed, woodstove, table and chairs. A separate, screened kitchen and everything I needed to cook. A private, cute outhouse completed the rustic experience. [It is ] very private and secluded. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to camp without roughing it.”

* City of Rocks Natural Reserve (Almo, Idaho) – As a natural reserve, the beauty of City of Rocks rivals that of the Yosemite, with its granite rocks and cliffs and magnificent hiking trails. Activities here include camping, hiking, climbing, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, educational programs, and hunting. Rock climbers are drawn to the area. According to a previous visitor, “Really nice campground, with amazing views, thanks to the rock formations. From one area you are really close to Window Rock. [The place] is also beautiful during winter.”

* Pipeline Campground (American Falls, Idaho) – Operated under the ownership of the Bureau of Land Management, this rustic camp ground has five sites on the Snake River, ideal for two and three-day canoe trips.
